KOHIMA, MAY 8 (MExN): A special workshop on the theme ‘Mother is the Foundation of a Happy Family’ was conducted at the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Kohima on May 7 in celebration of Mother’s Day.
According to a press release issued by the PRO Kohima Police, around 60 women police personnel from the Women Police Station, North and South Traffic Control, and the SP Office participated in the interactive session.
The keynote address was delivered by Sister Rupa, Director of the Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Meditation Centre, Kohima. She spoke on the role of mothers in building peaceful and harmonious homes and highlighted the importance of emotional well-being and self-care.
“A mother’s stress inevitably touches the entire family, while inner happiness and emotional stability allow her to radiate positive energy and create a healthy family environment,” she said.
She also emphasised positive thinking and mental wellness, particularly for working mothers serving in demanding professions such as the police service.
As part of the programme, participants were divided into five groups for discussions on various aspects of motherhood and family well-being. Topics included mental self-care practices for mothers, balancing professional and personal responsibilities, and daily habits that help sustain happiness and harmony within families.
The release stated that the discussions generated practical insights and that participants described the workshop as motivating and beneficial.
The Sr SP, Kohima, meanwhile appreciated the initiative and said he had previously attended Sister Rupa’s lectures, describing them as “very motivational and impactful.”
He expressed gratitude for organising the programme for police personnel and stressed the need for more mental well-being sessions for both male and female staff in the future.
Value-based badges carrying moral messages were distributed to participants at the conclusion of the workshop. The programme ended with a focus on emotional well-being, self-awareness and peaceful family relationships, the release added.
