I Abenjang addresses the gathering during the civic reception and felicitation programme held at Longkhum village in Mokokchung on March 23.
Mokokchung, March 23 (MExN): In a show of community support ahead of the by-election, the village of Longkhum hosted a civic reception and felicitation programme for I Abenjang, the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for the upcoming 28-Koridang Assembly Constituency by-election.
According to an update from the NPP media team, Abenjang received a warm reception on his arrival at his native village from the Longkhum Village Council, led by its chairman, along with elders, supporters and well-wishers. The visit marked a significant moment in his campaign in the constituency with the backing of the NPP.
He was accompanied by NPP National Vice President Vevoyi Wideo, President of the National People’s Women Front Ane-ii Khaming, and other senior party officials and workers.
Addressing the gathering, Abenjang expressed gratitude for the support extended to him by the people. He said “it is time for redemption” and urged citizens to “wake up from the slumber,” reaffirming his commitment to work for the welfare, unity and progress of the Koridang constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, the NPP vice president highlighted the party’s confidence in Abenjang, describing him as a capable and dedicated leader with a strong understanding of grassroots realities. He also appealed to the people of Longkhum and the wider Koridang constituency to extend their support to ensure effective representation.
Abenjang’s campaign is expected to continue across various villages under the Koridang constituency in the coming days.
