KYO conducts oyster mushroom farming prog

Kezieke, March 25 (MExN): The Kezieke Youth Organisation (KYO) has organized informative and engaging Oyster Mushroom Farming Program on March 24 at the Kezieke Community Building, Kohima.

The programme witnessed the participation of 38 community members, especially women, who showed keen interest in exploring sustainable agricultural practices.

The event was chaired by Neikhrietuo Albert, General Secretary of KYO, who guided the proceedings.

The programme began with an invocation by Teisovilie Rio, Vice Chairman of the Kezieke Welfare Board (KWB).

Lhoulaneituo Pienyü, President of KYO highlighted the importance of skill-based initiatives for youth empowerment.

Tseilievinuo Sale, Vice Chairman, Kezieke Welfare Board, encouraged the community to adopt innovative and income-generating activities such as mushroom farming.

The training session was conducted by Medokhriezo Marcus Kengurüse, Vice President of KYO.

He provided valuable insights into oyster mushroom cultivation, covering practical techniques and opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurship.

The initiative reflects KYO’s continued commitment to promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities and empowering the youth through practical knowledge and community engagement.
