Landmark partnership to develop responsible tourism in Sendenyu

New Sendenyu, March 11 (MExN): The Sendenyu Community Ecotourism Board (SCEB) and Kenono Foundation have entered into a landmark agreement to jointly develop and manage the Sendenyu Community Responsible Tourism Initiative (SCRTI). 

According to a press release received here, the agreement was formally signed at the Ecotourism Destination Center, New Sendenyu Village under the theme, “Nature educates, tourism inspires, and leadership transforms”, in the presence of leaders and representatives of the four Village Councils, frontal organizations and churches under Sendenyu Lojvu and officials and invitees from Kenono Foundation and CRBC.

A Certificate of Collaboration was issued during the event, formally recognizing the commitment of SCEB and Kenono Foundation to- promoting biodiversity education and conservation awareness; creating an environment for counseling and leadership development; advancing responsible tourism for conscious citizenship; and strengthening community leadership and capacity-building.

The signing programme was chaired by Ruchinilo Kemp, Chief Executive of Kenono Foundation. The event commenced with an invocation prayer led by Tenyenilo Thong, Pastor of Sendenyu Baptist Church, it stated.

Delivering key addresses, Gwasinlo Thong, Chairman of SCEB, and Rev Haiwalo Apon, Chairman of Kenono Foundation, emphasised the significance of this partnership in promoting responsible tourism, conservation, and community leadership.

The agreement was formally signed by both parties, with representatives from Sendenyu Baptist Church, Sendenyu Chipwen Union, and Sendenyu Community Biodiversity and Wildlife Conservation Board witnessing the process. Their involvement ensures collective stewardship of the properties and assets covered under the agreement. This was followed by an exhortation and a special prayer for the collaboration, led by Yhunthonglo Khing, President of CRBC. The programme concluded with benediction by Rokoulie Thong, Pastor of New Sendenyu Baptist Church.
