Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): Landowners of Yoruba in Phek has issued a statement warning Minister for Works & Housing and his “PS” to restore vacancies in the Public Works department of Chozuba sub-division by September 14 he alleged manipulated for vested interest.
The landowners sharply alleged that the duo have been “snatching away” all grade-IV vacancies in the PWD and posting them to other districts as well as selecting at whim candidates who are from outside the sub-division. Khusoh Khel Landowners’ Yoruba Village issued a press release today cautioning the minister and his “PS” to undo his handiwork by September 30 or the landowners of the current establishment would take an own course of action as deemed fit. The press release was appended by Thuputhita Khusoh, secretary.
The landowners said that Minister and his “PS” “has been snatching away all grade-IV staff vacancies” under PWD Chozuba and “posted them to other districts. This is ‘depriving employment opportunities to “genuine landowners,” Khusoh Khel Landowners’ Yoruba Village stated.
“Whenever any vacancy occurs, they manipulate the entire process thereby accommodating their pick and choose candidates belonging to outside Chozuba sub-division and for that matter outside the Chakhesang community as well. The PS to the minister has been in the habit of snatching away files and official documents relating to appointment of grade-IV staff against retirement vacancies from the office of the engineer in-chief, Nagaland PWD,” the press release said.
As a result of this manipulation and interference, all deserving candidates from the area have not been given any opportunity at employment under the PWD of Chozuba, the landowners lamented. The landowners have demanded that the state government seriously consider the matter and appoint “all the rightful landowners” against the vacancies by September 30 or the landowners would respond with action they deem fit and proper.
