DIMAPUR, AUGUST 11 (MExN): Discovering movement of terrorists towards the Imphal valley for disrupting the independence day celebration strict Surveillance was maintained in the border areas and operation was launched by 31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South). One of the party identified a hideout close to International Border in Chandel district on own side leading to recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition.
Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher, shell of RPG, AK – 56 Rifle, with ammunition and three magazine and Lathode shells besides some communication equipments were recovered. Detailed search of the area is being carried out to apprehend the terrorists. This was informed in a press note from PRO IGAR South.
