A ‘Leadership motivational talk’ for Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) councillors took place today at KMC Hall, Kohima under the theme “Alliance- A Biblical Perspective.”
Addressing the councillors and KMC staff as resource person, RevLuoliehuYimsung from Sydney, Australia, stressed the importance of teamwork and urged the councillors to encourage one another for a successful journey together.He called for building a healthy and holistic environment within the camp of KMC and to work towards progress and transformation.
Rev Yimsung stressed on the need to give credit to those who have done something good for the society.He also urged upon the councillors to have enthusiastic attitude, adding that influential person is needed for social change and growth.
Further, Rev Yimsung stressed on the need to stay connected with the people and attend to their needs.
‘Leadership is about serving with humility’
“Today's gathering is indeed a meaningful occasion as we come together not only as representatives and leaders of our people, but also as individuals committed to serving society with wisdom, integrity, and unity,” said KMC chairperson Neibodzelie Solo.
Solo said the theme of the programme reminds the importance of partnership, trust, harmony, and collective responsibility in leadership and public service.
He thanked Rev Yimsung for sharing valuable insights and inspired and strengthened the councillors’ role as leaders and servants of the community.
“Leadership is not merely about holding positions of authority; it is about guiding with vision, serving with humility, and building unity among people,” he said.Solo said maintained that today’s program has provided an opportunity to the councillors “to reflect, grow and renew our sense of purpose as public servants.”
The programme was chaired by KMC councillor VimhaliePienyü while KMC councillor RuokuovolieRutsa invoked God’s blessings.Vote of thanks was proposed by KMC councillor Thejavizo Phillip Solo.
