Legal literacy & awareness campaign on July 4 at Kma

Kohima, July 2 (MExN): The launching of legal literacy and awareness campaign for colleges and higher secondary schools by Kohima Law College in collaboration with Nagaland Legal Services Authority and Nagaland Voluntary Consumer Organization (NVCO) will take place on July 4 at 2:00 PM at Red Cross conference hall.
Mayang Lima, secretary, Nagaland Legal Service Authority and additional direct & session judge, Kohima will be the main speaker. Keynote address will be delivered by Kezhokhoto Savi, lecturer, Kohima Law College and Nagaland Voluntary Consumer Association. Zakie Kire, general secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch will talk on the topic “Sanitation.” Other speakers of the programme included: Obangmenla Jamir, W. Bangkai Konyak, Imtiyachetla Longchar and Akang Ao, principal, Kohima Law College.
With the official launching of the programme, the students of LLB VIth semester under the guide lecturer Kezhokhoto Savi would conduct legal literacy and awareness campaign in several colleges and higher secondary schools. The topic includes- consumer rights, legal service authority and free legal aid to poor, sanitation, RTE, RTI, FIR, care & protection of children (juvenile), fundamental duties, MACT, your rights if arrested and national social assistance etc.
This awareness campaign is also part of the students’ Bar Council of India practical paper.
Earlier, five students took park in the legal literacy and awareness programme conducted at Loyala School Jakhama and Tyrannus Boys Hostel Jakhama (TBHJ).
