Legal literacy & awareness programme in colleges/HSS

Kohima, June 28 (MExN): The VIth semester students of Kohima Law College in collaboration with Nagaland Legal Services Authority & Nagaland Voluntary Consumer’s Organization (NVCO) is all set conduct “Legal literacy and awareness programme” in colleges and higher secondary schools.
The programme will cover several topics such as consumer rights, legal services authority and free legal aid to poor, environment, RTI, FIR, care and protection of children (Juvenile), cyber crimes, fundamental duties, motor accidents, claim tribunal, your rights if arrested, national social assistance programme etc.
The proposed programme shall be conducted under the guidance of Kezhokhoto Savi, lecturer, Kohima Law College and president NVCO.
The resource persons will highlight each topic in brief and invites students for interaction.
The programme is also part of LLB VIth semester BCI practical papers.
The programme coordinator has requested few colleges to accommodate the proposed programme in their colleges. However, interested colleges or higher secondary schools may contact the office of Kohima Law College.
Each programme shall consist of about 55 students and teachers, according to a release issued by Obangmenla Jamir, assistant class representative, LLB VI semester, Kohima Claw College and Throngtiba Sangtam, Class representative CR, LLB VIth semester.
