Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): As per the Chiechama Village Council resolution, the Chiechama Village Youth Organization (CVYO) and Chiechama Women Society (CWS) had implemented the total prohibition of Alcohol at its own Jurisdiction with effect from June 2011. The CVYO & CWS conducted a surprise checking at NH-2 and seizes liquor carried by commuters on the month of July 2011.
A press note issued by Avi Keditsu , President CVYO and Keneingusa Rüpreo, General Secretary CVYO stated that the organization recently conducted surprise checking at its own jurisdiction and seized around 1020 bottles of Alcohol amounting to Rs.3,00,000/- from non citizen of village for selling and supplying liquor in the village. The seized alcohols were destroyed in the presence of the Village Council Chairman, GB’S, Church leaders etc on September 4.
Further the organization has cautioned the citizen and non citizen in general that found carrying /supplying the prohibited things shall dealt with severally.
