Longleng, November 4 (MExN): The Power Department will conduct vegetation clearance along 33 kV and 11 kV High Tension lines under Longleng Sub Division to ensure smooth power supply, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Electrical), Longleng said on Wednesday.
Council Chairmen and Village Electricity Management Boards (VEMBs) have been asked to coordinate with departmental staff in clearing trees obstructing the High Tension lines within their jurisdictions.
According to the schedule, vegetation clearance along the 33 kV Changtongya–Longleng Feeder and Yachem Feeder (covering Yachem, Noksosang, Yaongyimchen, Alayong and Sanglu) will be carried out from November 9 to 14, with shutdown from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Clearance along the 33 kV Pongo–Longleng Feeder and Hukphang Feeder (covering Lingtak, Hukphang, Namching, Pongching and Mongtikang), Pongo Feeder (Pongo, Hongnyu, Mungko, Yongphang, Yangching, Sakshi, Sakshi Compound, Auching and adjoining areas), Yongnyah Feeder (Dongkho, Bhumnyu, Yongam, Nyang, Yongnyah, Chingong, Shamshang and Yongnyah EAC HQ) and Medical Feeder (Medical, Orangkong, 12IR Chingtok, Yongshei, Yungja, Amosen, Tangha and JNV Tangha) will be taken up from November 16 to 21, with shutdown from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The department has urged all concerned to extend necessary cooperation for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
