Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): An unidentified male was killed in a road accident near Rilan Village, close to St John Higher Secondary School, on April 5.
A press note from the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur informed about the incident was received from the Police Control Room at around 7:30 pm. Police personnel rushed to the spot and found that the victim had been run over by an auto rickshaw bearing registration number NL07F9492.
The injured person was taken to Faith Hospital, where he succumbed to head injuries.
The deceased, believed to be a non-local, is estimated to be between 35 and 40 years of age, around 5 feet 6 inches in height, and had a moustache. At the time of recovery, he was wearing a black long pant and black long shirt, with a bangle on his right hand and a ring on the right middle finger.
Police said efforts to establish the identity of the deceased from the locality were unsuccessful. After completion of legal formalities, the body has been shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for identification.
