New Delhi, September 12 (Agencies): Team Manipur has been awarded the ‘Post that build the best business best in 2011’ by Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2011. The PATA Travel Mart was organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from September 6 to 9. This is the first international award at an international travel and tourism forum, informed a press release received here.
After winning the first national tourism award at Travel and Tourism Fair 2011 (TTF), Mumbai for ‘Most Promising New Destination Award’ team Manipur grabbed the first international award for ‘ Post that build the best business best 2011’ by Pacific Asia Tourism Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2011.
During the course of the Travel Mart team Manipur portrayed the potential of what Manipur Tourism has to offer. Primary thrust was emphasized on Health tourism, Tour Packages, Adventure Tourism, Hospitality and Culture exhibit. The award was conferred during the dinner hosted by Philippine Tourism.
Team Manipur is headed by K. K. Chettry, Commissioner- Tourism, Govt. of Manipur and includes Santosh Shekhar, Manager- Business Development, Shija Hospitals, Dr. L. Surjit, President, MMTA, HRK Sharma, MD, Seven Sister Holidays, Sommykanta Paonam, Classic Hotels and L. Ibochoubi. Tourist Officer, Manipur Tourism.
During the course of the exposition team Manipur was appreciated for its effort in portraying Manipur in the right light and for taking the centre stage in ensuring Manipur offer the right potential it has to offer.
