Manipur Education Minister Dr Thokchom Radheshyam said that the formation of the special task force for effective implementation of the New Education Policy has been finalised and is ready for implementation in the State.
Briefing the media on August 18, the minister said that as a part of the series of steps being taken up for implementation of the new policy, brainstorming sessions, discussions and meetings on the National Education Policy, 2020 are being conducted with experts and officials by the Department of Education.
Dr Th Radheshyam said that a meeting regarding the matter was held for the third time today with the representatives of Central Institutions imparting Higher Education and officials and principals of DM University. He also said that detailed discussions were held with the officials of the Central Institutions in the state and principals in respect of higher education with special focus on implementation of the National Education Policy, 2020.
The minister further informed that a meeting with the officials of Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Principals of Higher Secondary Education was held later. He said that in the meeting the possible challenges that could arise and how the already existing system can be improvised with the new education policy were discussed.
Dr Th Radheshyam expressed that the new education policy aims to provide the best education system rooted in Indian ethos and to transform India into a global knowledge superpower. The review meetings were held at the Conference Hall of Samagra Siksha, Manipur.
Emphasizing on the need for a thorough understanding of the policy the minister appealed to all stakeholders to analyse the policy and contribute in implementing the policy with suggestions and opinions.
