Manipur govt to host first ever CSR conclave

The Manipur government is preparing to host the first ever Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conclave in the state next month.

 

According to Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh, his government will host first ever Corporate conclave in the state on September 6 in Imphal.

 

He made the announcement during the signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Airport Authority of India (AAI) and State government for procurement of essential equipment for new Accident and Trauma Centre (ATC), Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of AAI held at Chief Minister's Secretariat on August 23.

 

The Chief Minister said that more than 70 companies/firms would be participating at the upcoming event. He maintained that the government is expecting large scale CSR investment in Manipur. The government is also hopeful of positive commitment from many corporate firms in the Conclave, he added.

 

Regarding the Airport Authority of India's CSR initiative for procurement of equipment, furniture etc for the ATC of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Biren Singh said that total amount Rs 4.95 crore will be funded by the AAI under the CSR project.

 

Appreciating the AAI for their valuable initiative, he stated that AAI has already donated one ambulance for the state Health Department and also agreed to sanction another ambulance for emergency purposes. He appealed the authority of JNIMS to procure quality equipment.

 

Manipur Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu, Principal Secretary (Health) V Vumlunmang, Principal Secretary (Finance)  Rakesh Ranjan, Secretary to CM  Ningthoujam Geoffrey, Regional Executive Director(AAI) Sanjiv Jindal, Director Imphal International Airport Senthil Valavan, DGM Imphal International Airport SS Raju, Director JNIMS Professor Th Bhimo, officials of JNIMS and others attended the function.
