Ukhrul |September 27 : Special Secretary of the Manipur State Planning Department Hasan Jasad, IAS is on a two-day long tour overseeing the progress of developmental works in Ukhrul along with the Ukhrul’s Deputy Commissioner Sudhan R, IAS and SDO Ukhrul Rajen Vishal, IAS. The secretary was given a briefing in the Ukhrul DC's chamber today after an inspecting of various developmental sites in Ukhrul district.
During the briefing, the visiting officer and the district administration examined the progress reports of road constructions in Ukhrul from the BRTF commanding officer.
On power, the DC of Ukhrul assured that the equipments meant for Ukhrul 33Kv. Sub-Station would be shortly installed in the district. The administration also scheduled a day for joint inspection of the Ukhrul Veterinary office building construction on October 6 next.
Over the construction of a sports complex at Pakshi ground Hundung and at the TNL ground with the grant fund of Rs. 9 crore, the administration is to process the ‘files,’ the DC said. The Ukhrul administration also urged the Ukhrul Chief Medical Officer to prioritize the development of the building as well as of fencing and sanitation programmes. A short programme for handing over the old Ukhrul SDO office to Ukhrul PWD department is also fixed by the DC Ukhrul for October 3.
The progress of work related to MGNREGS in Ukhrul was also a focus during the Special Secretary’s visit. The secretary also paid a visit to Ukhrul Pettigrew College and Ukhrul Higher Secondary School Girls' Hostel aside from others. The joint consultation meeting with the Special Secretary, Ukhrul administration and the DLOs in Ukhrul also discussed latest development on the "Bio-metric" exercise in the district.
