Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The Ward-17 Coordination Meeting was held today at AEF Council Hall, Kohima and resolved to conduct mass social work on May 3.
The meeting was presided over Khrielievi Chiisi, Deputy Chairman, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC).
The meeting was convened to discuss preparations for the upcoming Mass Social Work scheduled on May 3, particularly in view of the approaching monsoon season and related civic challenges.
Chiisi expressed gratitude to all present for their commitment to the welfare of the colonies.
He stressed the urgency of the situation caused by incisive rainfall, poor drainage systems, and man-made blockages in nullahs due to indiscriminate waste disposal by residents.
The purpose of the social work is to clear drainage systems, unblock nullahs, and prepare the colonies to handle the monsoon effectively. The social work will start from 6:30 AM onwards. All the residents have been requested to join the social work.
