Shillong | November 8
The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) today said that it will continue with the third phase of agitation against the state government’s silent treatment over their demands with a mass rally in Shillong on November 9.
Announcing the mass rally, president of MSSASA Aristotle Rymbai said that the decision to go ahead with the mass rally is to protest against the inaction of the MDA government for the demand of creation of post and shifting of all existing SSA teachers from the state implementation society to the state education on regular basis as per the provision of RTE act 2009 and SSA-RTE norms and to implement salary structure and to enhance the salary of 12541 SSA teachers working under Samagra Shiksha in Meghalaya. “The mass rally will begin at 11 am from Lumjingthang at Jaiaw and it will culminate at Student Field via Mawkhar main road where there will be a meeting to show the disappointment of the SSA teachers on the inaction of the MDA government,” said Rymbai.
Rymbai said that the SSA teachers in the state have not received their salary for the last six months hence the MSSASA appeal to all teachers and the public at large to join hands with the SSA teachers to protest against the MDA government by taking part in the scheduled mass rally.
