Dimapur, September 27 : Although officialy it’s said that the name menwhopause was derived from a certain quiz team that went by the same name, yet inside stories from the real team of the band say that the name all began when one of its members frequently got late for practices. The team had to wait and ‘pause’ their singing practises. And that’s how the name menwhopause got invented.
The 4-team band performed at Jumping Bean Café Dimapur on Tuesday evening as part of North East promo tour for their second album “Easy.” The band performed selected songs from their “Easy” album to a moderate audience swaying to their distinct music. Easy was released on EMI Music India on January 26, 2011. Their alum is available across music stores in India as well as digital download services like Nokia – OVI & iTunes across the world in countries like UK, US, Germany, France, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain etc. The band prefers to describe their genre of music as “Post Office Rock” which is close to alternative rock, as they say. Menwhopause has to its credit of being the first Indian band to be supported by Indian Centre for Cultural Relation and played at SXSW – the world’s biggest independent music festival in Texas.
Their first album was Home and they are now working on releasing their third album Haze.
