Kohima, May 9 (MExN): A valedictory programme for the Mid-Career Training of officers of the Nagaland Secretariat Service (NSS) was held on May 8 at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima, with V Shashank Shekhar, Additional Chief Secretary & APC and Director General ATI, as the special guest.
The training programme was conducted from April 27 to May 8, during which 23 Junior Section Officers successfully completed the course. Sharing their experiences, the officer trainees said the programme had given them confidence to move ahead and motivation to perform better.
In his address, Shekhar stressed the importance of training and reminded the officer trainees that learning is a continuous process. He pointed out that society benefits greatly when the government system functions efficiently.
He further stated that the Nagaland Secretariat Service, which serves as the backbone of the Secretariat, plays a vital role in the functioning of the government machinery, adding that society has entrusted a great responsibility to the officers.
The special guest called upon all officers to individually and collectively stay away from corruption and nepotism, maintain ethics and integrity, and strive towards efficient and timely delivery of services in the workplace.
He also reminded the participants of the old adage, “Health is wealth.”
The valedictory programme was chaired by Peter Konyak. A brief report on the training was presented by Asalie Lese. The programme was also attended by Er N Moa Longkumer (Joint Director), Kaholi Sema (Joint Director) and Imlibenla Jamir (Deputy Director).
