Minor among two injured in Langkho village drone attack, claims NSCN-K (YA)

Dimapur, October 3 (MExN): The NSCN-K (Yung Aung) on Saturday alleged that two civilians, including a nine-year-old girl, were seriously injured in a drone attack by the “Indian occupational army” on Langkho village in the Eastern Konyak Region in the early hours of the day.

In a statement issued by its MIP, the NSCN-K (YA) condemned the alleged attack as “cowardly and indiscriminate” and said it amounted to a crime against humanity and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

It alleged that the attack targeted civilians “who have nothing to do with armed conflict” and said it as an escalation by the Indian military. It claimed that civilians were being punished out of “battlefield frustration.”

The group appealed to the United Nations and international monitoring bodies to condemn the incident and act on it. “The world must not remain silent when innocent public and children become victims of armed conflict,” it said.

The NSCN-K (YA) also issued a warning to “Naga proxy groups and individuals” it accused of “providing intelligence and logistical support to Indian agencies.” Saying they were “betraying their own blood,” it claimed to know who they were and said they would be held accountable.

The group said it remained committed to protecting the Naga people, their land and freedom, and expressed solidarity with the families of the injured and the residents of Langkho.

The claim could not be independently verified.
