RÜSOMA, April 27 (MExN): The Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima, conducted the second phase of its Extension cum Outreach Activity at Rüsoma village on April 26, under the theme “Viksit Bharat 2047: Thriving and Sustainable Economy.”
Building on an earlier initiative held in February 2024, the program aimed to raise awareness about government schemes and promote inclusive rural development. Organized into 19 groups of five members each, Semester-II student teachers from MITE engaged in door-to-door surveys across the village. They assessed the educational profile of households and gauged residents’ awareness of various government welfare programs. Student teachers also shared information on schemes that could benefit families in the community.
The survey revealed a commendable level of awareness among Rüsoma villagers regarding available government initiatives. MITE said the outreach highlighted the institute’s commitment to empowering rural communities and advancing the national vision of a “Viksit Bharat” — a developed India by 2047 — through education, awareness campaigns, and inclusive growth strategies.
The outreach program was conducted with significant support from the Rüsoma Student Union, the Village Council, and village elders, whose cooperation contributed to the event’s success.
Key MITE officials present during the outreach included Program Coordinator Dr. R. Udhaya Mohan Babu, IQAC Coordinator Kavani Hekha, Assistant Professor Dr. Rajesh Babu Pammi, and Principal Dr. Kate Dandes Kumar.
ITE said the program marked an important step toward bridging gaps between information and accessibility in rural areas, strengthening the foundation for an informed and empowered citizenry aligned with the goals of Viksit Bharat 2047.
