MOKOKCHUNG, APRIL 9 (MExN): Mokokchung Police, on April 3, intercepted a vehicle suspected of transporting contraband along National Highway in Tsusapang Ward. The vehicle, an LP Truck (B/R No NL 02 Q 6311) was heading toward Mokokchung Town when it was stopped by law enforcement.
Upon inspection, the police seized 156 bottles of 750 ml MC Rum and 288 cans of 500 ml Kingfisher Beer. The driver, identified as Dev Raj and the owner of the consignment, Mahesh Siyag were arrested on the spot.
A formal complaint has been filed against the duo under Section (e) of the NLTP Act for transporting banned liquor into Mokokchung Town. Both suspects have been remanded to custody as investigations continue.
