MoRD official reviews progress of Thonoknyu Aspirational Block prog

DIMAPUR, JULY 15 (MExN): Director, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and Central Prabhari Officer (CPO) for Thonoknyu Aspirational Block, Raj Priy Singh reviewed the implementation of the Aspirational Block Programme in Noklak district during a visit on July 14.

According to a DIPR report, Singh chaired a review meeting with the district administration and line departments at the Conference Hall of the Superintendent of Police, Noklak.

Addressing the  meeting, Singh outlined the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, describing it as the Government of India's roadmap for transforming the country into a developed nation under the guidance of NITI Aayog. He said the initiative is anchored on four key pillars—youth, the poor, women and farmers.

He also highlighted the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G) initiative, which focuses on water security, core rural infrastructure, livelihood-related infrastructure and climate resilience. He urged all stakeholders to work collectively for the overall development of Thonoknyu block and Noklak district.

SDO (Civil), Noklak and Nodal Officer for Thonoknyu Aspirational Block, Vikhoto Richa, presented a review of the block's performance across five sectors—health and nutrition, social development, agriculture and allied activities, education, and basic infrastructure. He also highlighted challenges including remoteness, difficult terrain, poor road connectivity, inadequate banking facilities, data discrepancies, infrastructure gaps and shortages of human resources.

Deputy Commissioner Noklak, P Mono Khiamniungan, who chaired the meeting, thanked the Central Prabhari Officer for the visit and acknowledged the efforts of the line departments in implementing the Aspirational Block Programme. He noted that despite several challenges, Thonoknyu secured the first position in the Delta Ranking for the October–December 2025 assessment period.
