Chümoukedima, March 21 (MExN): Mughaho Awomi emerged as the champion of the 13th All Sumi Chess Championship held at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima. The championship was conducted from March 19 to 21.
In the open category, Kughaho Kiho and Akaho Achumi secured the second and third positions respectively.
In the Under-18 category, Jesse Chishi clinched the top position, followed by Thopimi Assumi and Gihuca Chishi as first and second runners-up.
Kuxupu Achumi was crowned champion in the Under-14 category, while Tovito Kiba and Vito H Kiba finished as first and second runners-up.
In the Under-10 category, Edlina Nini Kiba emerged as the champion. Jeremy Nitova Zhimo secured the first runners-up position, while Apishe A Kiba finished as second runners-up.
The valedictory function was chaired by Hoto Yeptho, Vice President of the Sumi Chess Association of Nagaland while Dr Naomi Zhimo distributed the prizes across categories and Advisor Mughato K Kiba delivered the vote of thanks.
