Murei Vil windfall from Montfort society

Ukhrul |August 21 : In a significant development,  Muirei village under Ukhrul district 24 kilometres away from Imphal, Manipur would become the second state in the entire north eastern region to have Montfort school in the near future.
A stone erection and installation of St. Anthony’s parish Murei was held amidst much fan fare at Murei (Joylang) with people representing from all over Ukhrul district, Imphal and Bangalora at the panoramic Murei village arouing 24kms east of Imphal, Manipur on Sunday.
Principal Secretary (public works department & transport)GOM, Ram Muivah, IAS, while talking with some exclusive Journalist on the side line of the function said that the erection and installation programme of St Anthony’s Parish at the cynic Muirei village was a long cherish dreams and aspiration of the people of this villages comprising around 11 villages.
The Bangalore based Montfort society, a religious institution is presently having only one Môn fort school in Guwahati. ”We may have Monfort school at our village in the future”, the principal secretary said. The Monftortian organization caters to the various educational needs of the children and of the youth as it engages in the villages.
Having a population of more than 400 Tangkhuls, the tiny village near Yaingangpokpi woke up on Sunday morning to witness the historic and symbolic erection and installation of the St Anthony’s Parish, a religious centre for the Christian Catholics on the village soil by handing officially the degree and emblematic giving of tabernacle key to Father Moses Parish priest and his assistance.
The religious representative Most Rev Dominic Lumon, DD Archbishop of Imphal administered the formal erection and installation of the parish  in presence of Rev Father Anthony Pareira, Provincial of the Vice-Province of India, Banglore, MLA Th Shyamkumar of Andro assembly constituency and Fathers ,Mothers, sisters of all over Manipur and many others religious leaders and a large number of villagers.
Muirei villagers expressed happiness over installation of the Parish as they were under Kasom Khullen Parish which is more than 100 km away from their village. “It’s our prolonged and elongated cherish dream to come true in our village’, a senior village elder said. “We’re grateful to the religious representatives for making it happen.” With the day’s formal installation, more than eight villages of the Southern Ukhrul area would be under the Parish at Muirei village.
