Naga organisation says population uncounted for two decades

DIMAPUR, JULY 13 (MExN): While the World commemorates the ‘World Population Day’ on 11th July, it is a different expression in Senapati District where till today, 3(three) sub-divisions remained uncounted from the world’s population since 2(two) decades. The Naga People’s Organization (NPO) in a press note expressed strong resentment over the Census Issue of Senapati District and organized a gathering of leaders and well-wishers at its Head office conference’s hall on 11th July, 2011.
The gathering highlighted and discussed the repeated exclusion of these sub-divisions and vowed to continue its movement of including in the 2011 National Census list. The house also lamented the exclusion of 2001 Census in the World population and that trend continues to haunt the district in 2011Census too. Condemning the suppressive and hidden motives of some State machinery to exclude the said sub-divisions on the pretext of “Abnormal Growth”, the gathering reiterated that, any force cannot deny the birth-right to be counted in the world’s population list. This was informed in a press note issued by M.L Markson, President, NPO.
