Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): ‘Naga United village council, Intanki’ clarifies on the ultimatum served to its chairman Sazo Zumvu on August 4, 2011 by the Angami People’s Organization. A note from the ‘council’ said Zumvu was “unanimously elected by the public” during a general meeting on September 28 2010 to be the chairman of the village’s council. “Therefore he is not a ‘self-styled’ chairman as alleged by the APO,” stated a note from the village today. The note also said ‘Naga United Village Council, Intanki’ is firm on its stand that “until and unless all the so-called encroachers including Biesumpuikam village are evicted from the national park, the Naga united villagers will not vacate the village at any cost. Why the government is not applying the same yardstick?” The note was appended by a C Pili Pochury, stated as secretary of the council.
