Nagaland Assembly environment panel visits Pfütsero

Pfutsero, May 26 (MExN): Chairman of the Environment and Climate Change Committee of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Achumbemo Kikon, along with committee members, visited the waste dumping site and the proposed mountain radar system site at Pfütsero on May 26.

As per the State DIPR, the team also held an interaction programme at Glory Peak, Pfutsero, with MLA Pfutsero Dr Neisatuo Mero, district administration officials led by Deputy Commissioner Phek Rhosietho Nguori, NCS, and Superintendent of Police Phek Pritual Kaur.

Representatives from the Pfutsero Town Council, Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), and Chakhesang Mothers’ Association also attended the interaction programme.

The visit assumed significance amid widespread opposition and apprehension surrounding the proposed mountain radar system in Pfütsero. 

However, the DIPR report did not elaborate on the issues discussed during the interaction programme.
