Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP) Rupin Sharma today reiterated that the public should not take the law into their own hands and must rely on law enforcement agencies to address criminal activity.
Addressing the Silver Jubilee cum Sports Meet of the New Reserve Youth Organisation (NRYO) in Kohima as the guest of honour, Sharma cautioned that bypassing legal channels could lead to serious legal complications and create adversaries.
On the issue of substance abuse, he highlighted the prevalence of liquor and drug use in the state, emphasizing the need for it to be addressed.
Sharma urged the public to follow formal procedures in reporting any incidents, movements, or individuals involved in substance abuse, calling for community support, cooperation, and vigilance in tackling social and policing challenges.
