Chingpai Wangyong and Monika Kumari Kushwaha receives prize at National Science Fair 2026 in Guwahati.
Kohima, February 16 (MExN): Chingpai Wangyong from Livingstone Foundation International School, Dimapur bagged the second position for Nagaland at National Science Fair 2026 (North East states), held from February 11- 14 at National Science Museum, Khanapara, Guwahati.
Wangyong’s project titled “Vision Guided Robotic Hand,” in the Best Model Making in individual category, demonstrated advanced use of computer vision technology.
The model uses a camera to track human hand movements in real time, interprets finger positions through software, filters unwanted shaking and noise, and translates human intent into precise mechanical motion.
The project was guided by Monika Kumari Kushwaha.
The achievement has brought great pride to Livingstone Foundation International school and the state of Nagaland.
Other participants from Nagaland included; Kuireiwang Newme, PM SHRI JNV Jalukie, Peren, Ipeuraile PM SHRI JNV Jalukie, Peren and Vinoho Phiyie, PM SHRI GHSS Chümoukedima.

Students from all eight Northeastern states participated in this event.
Meanwhile, Shashank Pratap Singh, Principal Director, School Education, Nagaland congratulated Wangyong for bringing laurel to the state.
