Nagaland Gov assures action on ex-servicemen’s concerns at Kisama rally

Kohima, March 17 (MExN): Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav on March 17 assured that concerns raised by the ex-servicemen community would be examined and addressed with due consideration, after receiving a memorandum at the Ex-Servicemen Rally held at Kisama Heritage Village, Kohima.

The memorandum was submitted by the President of the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) League, highlighting key issues affecting veterans and their families,  informed a press release from the PRO, Lok Bhavan, Kohima. 

Addressing the gathering, the Governor paid tribute to veterans, Veer Naris and families of soldiers, acknowledging their immense contribution and sacrifice in service of the nation. He described the occasion as an opportunity to honour their courage and dedication.

 

He lauded the Indian Army for its professionalism, discipline and continued commitment towards the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families, noting that such initiatives reflect enduring traditions of camaraderie and support.

Emphasising the need to recognise the sacrifices of the armed forces, Yadav said veterans and Veer Naris symbolise the nation’s strength and resilience, and their stories serve as an inspiration to society. He stressed that it is the collective responsibility of citizens to honour and support them with dignity.

 

The Governor also appreciated the Indian Army, particularly the Spear Corps, for organising the rally, and acknowledged the role of various organisations and the State administration in supporting veterans.

In his concluding remarks, he reaffirmed that the nation will continue to honour and cherish the legacy of its soldiers, recognising their role in safeguarding freedom and strengthening democratic foundations.
