Nagaland Power & Parliamentary Affairs minister KG Kenye has welcomed the move to set an additional allocation for Local Area Development Programme (LADP) fund by Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio to support the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) activities across 60 constituencies in Nagaland.
Making a statement at the 8th Session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima on March 12, Kenye commended Dr Rio for his efforts to promote the MSME sector in the state.
Kenye stated that the enhancement of the LADP fund would have a meaningful impact on the lives of many people in the state and help address the immediate needs of the working class.
He added that one of the major challenges faced by the MSME sector has been the lack of adequate funding, which he believes will now be partly addressed through the increased LADP allocation, thereby directly benefiting people in rural areas.
Referring to the earlier discussion on “Critical Role of MSMEs in Improving Nagaland’s Economy,” Kenye noted that the House held a constructive and healthy debate on the importance of MSMEs, during which several pertinent issues affecting the growth of the sector in the state were raised.
He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister on behalf of the people of Nagaland for responding positively to the concerns highlighted during the discussion.
Kenye thanked Dr Rio for his vision and commitment to the people, describing the initiative as a significant step forward for the overall development of the state.
