Nagaland Govt initiates magisterial probe into assault doctors

Kohima, April 9 (MExN): The State government has ordered for conduct of a Magisterial Inquiry by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nuiland, into the incident involving Dr Nosezol Sezo and some police personnel on duty on April 3.
The Principal Secretary for Home, Abhijit Sinha during the daily briefing on the status of COVID-19 in Nagaland stated that “the inquiry will go into all the facts and circumstance leading to the incident and fix responsibilities on those guilty.
Sinha also informed that the “Inquiry Officer has been asked to submit the report latest by the April 18.”
Meanwhile, a total of 65 suspected COVID-19 samples from Nagaland have tested negative as of 5:00pm April 9, he said.
In total, 69 samples from the State have been sent for testing, and results for four samples are awaited, he added.
Sinha also assured that availability of food grains, medicines, POL and other essential goods and commodities continue to be normal in the State.
He informed that the Chief Minister today held a review meeting on the COVID-19 situation in the State and on the preparedness of the Health Department.
