
Kohima | September 22 : Under the aegis of Youth Net, a non-profit organization, young talented Nagas will get the opportunity to explore their vistas in many ways where a collection of young leaders from across the Northeastern states will land in Nagaland to take part in the 1st Young Leaders Connect Conference to be held on 3rd October under the Theme “Connect, Exchange, Strengthen” at Kohima.
The young leaders will be headed by its chairman, Baichung Bhutia and co-chair, Anato Zhimomi.
Addressing a press conference today at Dream Café, the director YouthNet Hekani Jakhalu said the programme is to give an opportunity to the young Nagas who are frustrated under their own shell knowing the fact that there are wider space with better perspective and said YouthNet is trying its best to make the one day programme as good as any national or international programme. She also said one topic will be centered on politics and development.
Jakhalu confidently confirmed their participation of the young leaders.
Joshua Sheqi, RTI division YouthNet said Young leader from the north east need to know about each other and the programme will seek to develop greater awareness and understanding essentially through the “Connect, Exchange, Strengthen” of issues that affects political, social and economic development of our country-viz the north east from young leaders perspective.
Lezo Putsure, Programme coordinator said Nagas need exposure, as many are confined in their own and shared the need to start capitalizing the big markets.
The conference is expected to make young leaders interact with each other in the field of culture, education, politics, sports, social entrepreneurship, economics, diplomacy which will not only enhance contact between the young leaders and provide an opportunity to exchange views and opinions and build network but also be a stepping stone for carving long lasting association and friendship.
It also seeks to establish a powerful network of like-minded young leaders, with a desire for better India of tomorrow which will strengthen ‘us’ in playing vital role in paradigm shifting and contribute towards building a vibrant economy, strong government an common cultural identity.
Khiren Rijju, a Lok Sahbha MP and Moji Riba, a film maker by profession from Arunachal Pradesh, Bhaichung Bhutia, India’ most capped footballer and former captain and Naresh Subba who is considered as sharpest brains in the North East from Sikkim, Gaurav Gogoi, an inspiring leader and a US public administration student and alumnus of Boston University (business management) Tanushree Hazarika from Assam, Paul Lyngdoh MLA, a vibrant yet experienced politician from Meghlaya, MLA and president of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Pritvi Raj Singh and Rennedy Singh, a prominent member and the vice captain of the India Football team from Manipur, Dr Lalrin Tluanga Jahau, a doctor known for his excellent medical skills from Mizoram and Sentimong, development expert, Shri Ratan TATA Trust Mumbai, Neichute Duolo, Director of Entrepreneurs and Theja Meru , a successful businessman and in charge of heritage and Dream café from Nagaland have confirmed their participation at the Young Leaders Connect.
