Nagaland team at North East NSS Festival 2025 in Agartala.

KOHIMA, AUGUST 29 (MExN): A 34-member contingent from Nagaland led by programme officers Nüveta Khüsoh and Likumcha Yim, along with 32 volunteers, participated in the North East NSS Festival 2025 held at Agartala, Tripura from August 23 to 27.
The event brought together youth volunteers from across the North Eastern states to promote cultural exchange, intellectual growth, and community service.
The festival opened with an intellectual session on “My Bharat Portal: Empowering Youth for Nation Building and Personal Growth”, conducted by Dr. D. Carthigueane, Regional Director of NSS.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha as chief guest and Tinku Roy, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs as Guest of Honour.
Over the five-day programme, the participants engaged in a wide range of activities, including panel discussions, motivational talks, cultural showcases, fitness drives, and community service.
Team Nagaland bagged 2nd position in the “Viksit Bharat@2047” event and 3rd position in the Sit-and-Draw competition, showcasing their talent and creativity.
The contingent also took part in the Fit India Freedom Run, cleanliness drives, and technical sessions on youth employability, drug-free living, and NSS programme structures.
During Blood Donation Festival, five volunteers from Nagaland donated blood to save lives.
Cultural evenings at Nazrul Kalakshetra featured traditional dances, attire shows, and musical performances, reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of the North Eastern states.
Delegates also visited historic sites, including the iconic Neermahal Palace. The festival concluded on August 27 with a grand closing ceremony and a musical evening by local artists.
