Ryatt Hotel and Homestay, a new hospitality establishment, was inaugurated at Orchid Colony, Wokha Town, on October 31, with Deputy Commissioner Wokha, K Mhathung Tsanglao, attending the ceremony as special guest.
In his address, the DC underscored the importance of developing quality hospitality infrastructure in Wokha, observing that the district requires spacious and well-equipped accommodation facilities to cater to the growing number of visitors, including tourists and officials from outside the district.
Tsanglao said the new establishment could contribute to the local economy by creating employment opportunities and strengthening hospitality services. He also stressed the need for the proprietors to maintain professional standards and provide quality services, while encouraging employees to develop good communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with guests.
He advised the management to secure all requisite documents and clearances from the concerned authorities, particularly as the establishment would function as both a hotel and homestay in coordination with the Tourism Department.
Sharing the journey behind the venture, proprietor Yanchumrhumo W Jami said the establishment was the fulfilment of a long-held dream. He expressed gratitude for the financial assistance received through the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI) loan scheme, facilitated by the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, which helped bring the project to fruition.
Jami encouraged unemployed youth to explore government-sponsored financial assistance schemes and entrepreneurial opportunities to establish sustainable livelihoods and become self-reliant.
The programme concluded with the formal inauguration and dedication of the establishment by R Samuel Ovung, Associate Pastor, Wokha Town Baptist Church.
