The 4th National Lok Adalat for final quarter of 2025 organised under the aegis of NSLSA was conducted across Nagaland on December 13.
KOHIMA, December 13 (MExN): The 4th National Lok Adalat for the final quarter of 2025, organised under the aegis of the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), was conducted across all district headquarters on Saturday.
A total of 204 matters were settled out of 1342 taken up, with a total settlement amount of Rs 2,96,55,316. The cases pertained to bank recovery, MACT, and other civil matters at pre-litigation and pending stages, stated an update from PRA NSLSA.
The Dimapur DLSA conducted the adalat at the District Court Complex, chaired by Longshithung Ezung and Atoka Achumi as Presiding Officers. Sixty-nine out of 77 cases taken up were disposed. The settlement amount was Rs 1,08,88,353.
The Mon DLSA organised the adalat at the District Court Complex, presided over by District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman Nokshei Kano and Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary Wokono Yhoshii. Conciliators were Advocate Angun Konyak (Retainer Lawyer), Advocate Mannon (Chief LADC), Advocate Topha (Panel Lawyer), and Advocate Moba (Chief LADC). Four out of ten bank recovery cases were disposed with the settlement amount of Rs 30,26,931.
The Phek DLSA held the adalat at the District Court Complex, with District & Session Judge cum Chairperson Duvelu Vero as the Presiding Officer. Conciliators were Retainer Lawyer Sekhotso Rokha, Chief LADC Vethothi Vero, and Panel Lawyer Thukutalu Chizo. All 17 bank recovery loan cases taken up were disposed with the settlement amount of Rs 23,15,956.
The Tuensang DLSA conducted the adalat at the District Court Complex, presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman Somet Chumden Chang. Conciliators were Retainer Lawyer P Herola and Chief LADC Antimangyang. Ten out of 13 bank recovery cases taken up were disposed. The settlement amount was Rs 21,66,145.
The Kohima District Legal Services Authority conducted the adalat at the District Court. A short programme was chaired by Panel Lawyer Asenla Longkumer. Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairperson Mezivolu T Therieh spoke on the functioning of Lok Adalats. Out of 1062 cases taken up (760 bank recovery, 300 BSNL, two money suits), 28 were disposed with settlement amount of Rs 17,13,998.
The Peren DLSA conducted the adalat at SBI Tening Branch, with Secretary Atoka Achumi as the Presiding Officer. Thirteen out of 90 pre-litigation bank loan cases were disposed and settlement amount of Rs 11,31,500.
The Longleng DLSA held the adalat at the District Court with SBI Longleng. Presiding Officer and Secretary LDLSA Kumdilong Kessen briefed the gathering. All four bank loan recovery cases taken up were disposed. Conciliators were Retainer Lawyer K Bongyei Phom and Panel Lawyer L Yingloi Phom. The ettlement amount was Rs 10,04,471.
The Zunheboto DLSA conducted the adalat at the District Court Complex, with Judicial Magistrate First Class cum Secretary Cheliam Khiamniungan as the Presiding Officer. Conciliators were Easter H Yepthomi and Vilibo K Zhimo. Four out of five pre-litigation bank recovery cases were disposed with settlement amount of Rs 7,52,263.
The Mokokchung DLSA organised the adalat at the District Court Complex, presided over by Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary Julian Sitlhou. Conciliators were Retainer Lawyer Watitemjen Molodongba and Panel Lawyer Chubarenla. All four bank recovery cases taken up were disposed and settlement amount of Rs 5,20,000.
The Kiphire DLSA held the adalat at the District Court Complex, with Secretary Holika Sukhalu as the Presiding Officer. Two out of six taken-up pre-litigation bank loan cases were disposed with settlement amount of Rs 4,91,400.
The Wokha DLSA conducted the adalat at the District Court Complex, presided over by District & Sessions Judge and Chairperson WDLSA, Seyielenuo Mezhu. Out of 46 cases (43 pre-litigation BSNL bill recovery and three bank recovery/money suits), 41 were disposed with settlement amount of Rs 44,330.
