The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, #Plant4Mother campaign was launched on World Environment Day, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the citizens and people worldwide to join the tree plantation initiative with their mother to celebrate both motherhood and the environment. The Rotary Club of Dimapur organised a project titled ‘Planting Trees to Make the World Pollution Free’ marking the beginning of the Rotary Year 2024-25’ on July 1.This initiative also celebrated the installation of the club’s 53rd president Rtn Monoj Bhattacharjee. To commemorate the 53rd president installation, 53 trees were planted. During the event, Rtn Monoj Bhattacharjee urged attendees to plant more trees and act as messengers to save the environment. Other speakers included Rtn Chandu Agarwal PDG, and Rtn Pradeep Kr Goel. TaFMA Tseminyu launched a three-day ‘Basic Professional Sound System Management Workshop’ at the CRBC Conference Hall, Mission Center Zunpha, Tseminyu on July 1. The event was inaugurated by Rev Haiwalo Apon, Executive Secretary CRBC with words of encouragement and a prayer. A total of 35 participants have enrolled in the workshop. The resource persons are Menguzelie Marcus, Sound Engineer at TaFMA, and Merensuba, both bringing extensive expertise to the training. The workshop, will continue till July 3 and cover various aspects of professional sound system management, equipping participants with the skills needed to manage sound equipment effectively. The Governor presented him with a certificate of appreciation for his contribution to environmental protection through his ‘One Man Clean-Safe Campaign.’ The certificate was awarded during the screening of the Mann Ki Baat Programme at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on the same day. Movi began his tenure at Nagaland University as an LDC in 1997 and promoted to UDC in 2013. In 2017, he was awarded the Governor’s Gold Medal for Distinguished Service, and was also appointed as the Special Ambassador for Swachh Bharat Phek District in 2018 by the Governor of Nagaland. He was named the best Non-Teaching Staff of Nagaland University for the year 2023.
