DIMAPUR, JULY 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Sub-Junior, Pre-Junior and Junior Pencak Silat team won a total of nine medals at the 14th Sub-Junior, Pre-Junior and Junior National Pencak Silat Championship 2026 held in Nashik, Maharashtra, from June 25 to 28. A press release issued by Nagaland Pencak Silat Association General Secretary and Head Coach Deep Kumar informed that the team secured four silver medals in the Tanding event through Lusa Yingpithonger, Mughatoli Awomi, Ruungunuo Elizabeth and Reevan Jaishi. The team also won five bronze medals in the Artistic events. The medal winners were Kambo Kiba, Tethuilungbo Newmai, Lusa Yingpithonger, Ruungunuo Elizabeth and Reevan Jaishi.
The association described the team’s performance at the national championship as outstanding, with Nagaland finishing the competition with a total haul of nine medals.
