Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): The second day of the Tokhü Emong Bird Count (TEBC) 2025 convened at the Nature Learning Centre in Dimapur on November 5, continuing its focus on community-driven conservation.
The event was chaired by Lesemew M, Chairman of Eco Warriors Nagaland. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Lesemew M, followed by an opening prayer from Tsujang T of the same organisation.

Delivering the keynote address, Lansothung Lotha, Range Forest Officer, I/C Doyang Beat, Wokha Forest Division, stressed the significance of collective conservation efforts and citizen participation in monitoring biodiversity.
He encouraged trainees from the State Environment and Forest Training Institute (SEFTI) to pursue birding as a hobby and to contribute to scientific data using platforms like eBird.

A special address was delivered by Chenibemo Odyuo, Senior Project Manager at the Foundation for Ecological Security, who highlighted the collaborative initiatives between community groups and forest departments in enhancing ecological awareness across Nagaland.
An interactive session demonstrating the use of the eBird and Merlin Bird ID applications was conducted by Tekameren I Jamir of Eco Warriors Nagaland for the benefit of new participants.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Ningsanglong Longchari of Eco Warriors Nagaland, who acknowledged the cooperation of all participants, partners, and supporting organisations.
The formal programme concluded with a closing prayer by S. Limkhung of Eco Warriors Nagaland.
Subsequently, participants engaged in an interactive birding session and light refreshments at the Forest Colony Complex.
