Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): Bringing a sigh of relief to hundreds of students, the Nagaland University authorities have agreed to allow 367 students, currently ineligible for re-evaluation due to low marks, to inspect their answer scripts and subsequently apply for re-evaluation, following a meeting with the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) on July 27.
The decision came after the ANCSU submitted an appeal (ref. no ANCSU-VC/NU/App-02/2025-2027 dated July 22, 2026) over the recently declared FYUGP (Four-Year Undergraduate Programme) Semester Examination results.
During the meeting, it was brought to the notice that 367 students are presently ineligible to apply for re-evaluation as they have either secured single-digit marks or failed to attain the existing minimum eligibility criterion of 20% marks prescribed for re-evaluation, the union said in a statement issued by its Media Cell.
After extensive deliberations and discussion, it was resolved that these students shall be provided an opportunity to seek redressal. Upon receipt of the consolidated list, the Union will facilitate the process with the University and the concerned students shall be permitted to inspect their evaluated answer scripts. “In the event that a student is not satisfied with the tabulation or award of marks after verification of the answer script, he or she shall be allowed to apply for re-evaluation, notwithstanding the existing eligibility criterion,” it was decided.
In a separate issue, the University also informed the union that a one-month window has been given to concerned colleges to submit corrections regarding wrongly reflected Minor subjects in the results. Students affected by such errors have been advised to immediately approach their respective colleges to ensure that the corrections are forwarded to the University within the stipulated timeframe.
The ANCSU has requested all ineligible students to submit their names and university roll numbers through their respective college Students’ Councils within two days. The lists are to be sent to Imnawabang T Lkr, Assistant General Secretary, at 8794280962.
“The ANCSU remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the rights and academic interests of the student community,” it stated.
