National Ayurveda Day observed at Mhainamtsi school

Peren, September 23 (MExN): The Ayurvidya School Health Programme (ASHP), Peren observed National Ayurveda Day under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow” at Mhainamtsi Government High School on September 23.

Speaking as chief guest, Kekuhungbe Iheilung, Chairman, Mhainamtsi Village Council, encouraged participants to adopt healthy lifestyles and make greater use of locally available food. He also stressed the importance of using available resources wisely.

Iheilung said investing in young people by promoting healthy habits and ensuring access to education, health services and social security was essential for improving the lives of future generations.

Dr Chapkelilakbo Dailiam, Medical Officer (ASHP), Peren, delivered an awareness talk on balanced diets and preventive health.

Dr Kezuyipeule, Medical Officer (AYUSH), Old Peren HWC, introduced participants to Ayurveda, including career opportunities, identification of medicinal plants and their basic uses.

Hentinthang Singsong, Area Education Officer, Peren, speaking as special invitee, stressed the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles and said maintaining a healthy standard of living begins with individual effort. He encouraged participants to act as ambassadors in creating awareness about various activities undertaken by the Medical Department.The programme was chaired by Dr Chapkelilakbo Dailiam, while Headmistress, Mhainamtsi Government High School, Ingaulule Liegise, proposed the vote of thanks. A special song was presented by the school.

The programme concluded with the planting of medicinal plants in the school’s herbal garden, informed a press release from the CMO Office Peren.
