National Energy Conservation Day observed in NF Railway

MALIGAON, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) observed 'National Energy Conservation Day' with a week-long series of events from December 8 to December 14. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the significance of energy conservation and highlight the need for sustainable practices.

A large number of officers and staff from various NFR units actively participated in the Energy Conservation Week, engaging in a range of activities to promote energy-saving practices. Staff counseling sessions were held across multiple field units to underscore the urgency of energy conservation.

Throughout the week, various programs were organized, including leaflet distribution, art and quiz competitions, poster and banner displays, Nukkad Natak (street play), and slogan campaigns. These activities were designed to educate both staff and the general public about the importance of conserving energy.

On December 13, a Nukkad Natak was held near the NFR Headquarters complex, attended by railway officials and members of the public. The performance aimed to reinforce the message of energy conservation through engaging street theatre.

In addition to the performances, public awareness walks with banners and slogans were organized at several locations across the railway zone. Prominent posters were displayed at railway premises, and energy conservation leaflets were distributed to both railway staff and the public to further emphasize the need for mindful energy usage.

Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway, also held a discussion with officials and staff at the NFR Headquarters, stressing the importance of adopting energy conservation practices in daily operations.
