Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD), Dimapur Urban Colony Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) and GB Union Dimapur Sadar (GBUDS) have jointly appealed to concerned departments under Government of Nagaland Government to immediately commence construction of the long-pending bypass road from New Check-field Gate near Amar Flour Mill to Bible House near New Dhansari Bridge, Walford.
In a joint appeal issued on September 24, the three Dimapur-based organisations said the proposed road would cross the railway track and pass through Veterinary Colony and Burma Camp before connecting the two terminals.
The NCD, DUCCF and GBUDS stated that their representatives called on the Deputy Commissioner and Revenue Officer, Dimapur district, at the DC’s office chamber on September 24 and assured their full cooperation and support in addressing any obstacles that may arise during execution of the project.
According to the three organisations, the project has been a “long cherished dream” of the NCD.
Citing official government records and documents, the trio further stated that entire surveyed and demarcated land from end to end has been compensated and therefore there should be no land encroachment or dispute when construction work begins.
Meanwhile, the three organisations also appealed to the Directorate of Land Records and Survey, Dimapur, to issue an official report detailing the surveyed and measured alignment and pillar demarcation of the proposed bypass road “without any further delay”.
This would enable the project to commence and be completed in a record time before the project funds lapse, they added.
The NCD, DUCCF and GBUDS further appealed to all communities in Dimapur to extend their full cooperation towards the execution and successful completion of the project, stating that the road would help ease the daily traffic congestion in Dimapur city.
