Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of North East Christian University (NECU) organised an AI Fundamentals training programme on April 27 in collaboration with YouthNet and the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME), with faculty and students participating in hands-on activities on artificial intelligence tools and applications.

Resource person Florida Jigdong of YouthNet introduced participants to three categories of AI, Narrow AI, Generative AI, and Super AI, noting that while Generative AI is currently in active use, Super AI remains under development and is expected to become widely integrated into society upon its eventual launch, stated a press release.

Jigdong stressed the importance of prompt engineering, explaining that AI outputs are shaped entirely by user inputs and that prompts broadly fall into two categories, good and bad, with the quality of results depending directly on how effectively a prompt is framed. She also highlighted the role of tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, CoPilot, Perplexity, and others in everyday use.

On the art of using AI, she mentioned that one has to learn the art of prompting since AI is generative in nature and engineered by the users. There are two categories of prompt according to her: Good prompt and Bad prompt. Depending on the prompts given, a user can make the best use of AI services. She also emphasised on the integration of AI in business branding and marketing through WhatsApp Business and AI powered content creation.

YouthNet's work in skill development and employment generation in Nagaland was also highlighted during the programme.

The participants were made to do hands on activity wherein, they were asked to build a business model using AI. The programme was chaired by Dr Chibenthung Yanthan, Coordinator, IQAC.
