
Guwahati, August 25 (MExN): The NERIM Group of Institutions welcomed its new batch of students with a day-long 'WELCOME MEET – 2025' on August 25.
The event featured addresses from the institution's leadership, focusing on guidance and reassurance for both students and parents. In her welcome lecture, Director Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Tripathi sought to allay the fears of parents, stating, ‘We will transform your protégés into responsible members of society.’ She emphasized that NERIM is an ‘Academic Home’ for the students.
Chairman Dr Zoii Nath Sarma spoke on the significance of education and classroom focus, outlining the role of a student as one that ‘begins with interest, thrives through attention and takes shape through repetition.’ He also elaborated on the concepts of 'character' and 'reputation'.
Registrar Prof. Deba Prasad Misra highlighted the importance of orientation programs, calling them the ‘basic foundation for a successful academic journey.’ He encouraged students to be worthy of their alma mater. The event also included addresses from various Principals and Heads of Departments.
The day concluded with an award distribution ceremony to honour student achievers, including University Gold Medalists and toppers, who have brought accolades to the institution.
