Author Liba Hopeson and Rev Dr Mar Pongener during the launch of the book at Poumai Baptist Church in Kohima on July 26.

Kohima, July 26 (MExN): General Secretary of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Rev. Dr Mar Pongener, on Sunday released "Thinking Through the Times", a new book by speaker, writer and pastor Liba Hopeson, at the Poumai Baptist Church in Kohima.

Published by Crown Publishing, the book presents reflections on social, cultural, educational, economic and spiritual issues through the lens of Christian faith. It seeks to encourage readers to think beyond narrow boundaries while offering practical perspectives for everyday life.

The volume is a compilation of 52 articles written over two years and previously published in various newspapers.

Hopeson has authored several other books, including Exploring for a Better World, Igniting the Christian Mind, Facets of Life, Theology of Work and 50 Commonly Misinterpreted Bible Verses from the New Testament.

Speaking at the launch, Rev. Dr Pongener said the book had been written in the context of society and observed that while many people could speak and write, only a few were able to produce books.

He said writing a book required wisdom, sacrifice, family support and financial resources, and congratulated the author, expressing confidence that the publication would reach a wide readership and benefit individuals, families, communities and churches.

Hopeson acknowledged the contribution of those who supported his writing journey and thanked Eastern Mirror, The Morung Express, Nagaland Post, Hills Hornbill Express and Times of Senapati for publishing the articles included in the book.

The author said he hoped the book would encourage readers not only to read but also to think critically and live meaningful lives.
