Pughoboto, April 9 (MExN): The newly constructed building of Holy Family Church at Laza-Phuyeqa under Pughoboto was formally dedicated on April 9.
The Blessing and Holy Eucharist was presided over by Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, who dedicated the church to the service of God and the community.
Y Vikheho Swu, former Minister and Managing Director of Okusa Toyota Pvt. Ltd., Nagaland unveiled the donors memorial stone. He noted that the Catholic Church has played a significant role in shaping young minds through its contributions to education and spirituality. Citing examples such as local coffee enterprises, he remarked that coffee cultivation holds immense economic potential in Nagaland and can contribute to holistic growth. Swu encouraged the people to explore opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors to ensure sustainable livelihoods and job creation.
The programme was led by Rev Fr Paul Inashe, Parish Priest. The land for the church was donated by Danis Achumi and family.
