NFCA resolves ‘non co-operation with Assam Rifles’

Kohima, November 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) on Saturday resolved for “non co-operation with Assam Rifles.”

The NFCA, Vice President, Kadi Zeliang and General Secretary, Ayeto Ayemi in a press release stated the association resolved the non-cooperation in relation to the October 29 incident where the 1st Assam Rifles allegedly raided Roko Angami’s house without any rhyme or reason.

The association has appealed all clubs and sportspersons of the state to extend their support and solidarity by “restraining yourselves from participating or attending in any sports activities organized by the Assam rifles until and unless justice is served to one of our sports fraternity member, lest the same fate befalls us in the coming days.”

While condemning the incident, the Association also appealed that ‘the informant or informants who supplied wrong information to the Assam Rifles should be brought to light and that necessary action against the informant or informants should be initiated once and for all, so that no disharmony amongst our society be created by some vested interest.”

It also demanded “public apology for the erring Assam Rifles for their mistakes.”
